How To Get People To Care More About What You Have To Offer

We live in a self-absorbed world.

One where we often feel as though people don’t really care about our ideas.

Where they don’t care about the issues that you’re passionate about.

Where your boss doesn’t seem to care that you deserve a promotion or more money.

And where people don’t even notice that you’re having a bad day or feel unappreciated.

Maybe they do care a little bit, but not as much as you want them to.

So, how do you change this?

Show how much you care about the needs of others.

Author and motivational speaker Brian Tracy says, “Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, “What’s in it for me?”

He then goes on to say, “The more credit you give away, the more will come back to  you. The more you help others, the more they will want to help you.”

I think he’s right.

Listen to others, take an interest in them, find a common point of interest and help them in their endeavours.

And then watch what happens.

All of a sudden, people will care more about your ideas.

They will seem to care more about the issues that you’re passionate about.

Your boss will be more likely to think that you deserve a promotion or more money.

And people will be more likely to be aware that you’re having a bad day and help you to feel more appreciated.

So stop talking about yourself.

Stop yelling so that you can be heard over everyone else.

And start taking an interest in others.
